WPA Response to the Proposed National Environmental Standard for Assessing and Managing Contaminants in Soil

In April 2010 WPA submitted a response to Standard New Zealand's ‘Proposed National Environmental Standard for Assessing and Managing Contaminants in Soils’.  WPA supported the development of an National Environmental Standard (NES) to guide the management of contaminated sites and raised concerns about the narrow focus of the proposed NES and an apparent unwillingness to address all aspects of the management of historically contaminated land including ecological considerations.
