Monetary Policy

WPA maintains that the monetary policy which has consistently seen the New Zealand dollar over-valued is detrimental to the New Zealand economy, both domestically and for those involved in the export trade.  WPA has supported moves made by individual members to have a significant review of monetary policy including investigation of the Reserve Bank Act to ensure that unintended consequences of the Reserve Bank Act do not adversely impact on the industry's ability to compete internationally due to the overinflated value of the New Zealand dollar.
