WPA/FTMA/PMA Technical Conference
WPA, FTMA and PMA Technical Conference was held in Te Papa on Monday 11 October 2010.
WPA and FTMA held their first Technical Conference with the Pine Manufacturers Association of New Zealand (PMA) providing an ability, in an informal setting, to discuss key issues affecting members businesses.
This conference provided an overview on:
- The Russian market (log export tax implications and issues impacting the industry)
- Energy for Industry update on the BANZ Bioenergy Strategy for New Zealand, Christchurch biosolids project and underlying global energy market trends
- LVL and Glulam buildings
- European wood processing technologies available to medium-sized processors
- An Australian perspective on issues of common interest to wood processors and manufacturers
FTMA provided an update on current activities being undertaken by FTMA New Zealand and Australia and the conference included discussions on issues of common interest to wood processors and manufacturers and ideas on how to grow New Zealand's processing sector.
